PRACTICE DETAILSFantastic opportunity for a General Internal Medicine specialist to join the team at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail. If you are passionate about your work, enjoy working within a strong team and are looking to practice in a welcoming community setting where the lifestyle opportunities are endless, this may be the position for you! The Internal Medicine group consists of 6 dedicated and collegial professionals, providing services in a busy acute inpatient hospital setting. The ideal candidate will be a true general internist, with comfort providing prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide breadth of diseases and conditions. This individual should be motivated in becoming a strong member of the local medical community, have an interest in providing robust IM inpatient care hospital services, coupled with a desire to provide outpatient services. Electrodiagnostics (Holters, ECGs) as well as cardiac stress testing are available. For specific other skills that an internist can provide, we are likely able to accommodate a range of interests. We are associated with UBC and have ICC medical students and family practice residents here as their home site, as well as visiting UBC IM Fellows. Participation in Physician Quality Improvement (PQI) projects is encouraged (supported by DoBC). Critical care services are covered separately and not part of this position. On-call requirements are generally light and include inpatient consults at the Trail hospital as well as phone support for our surrounding communities. We are excited to add passionate and hardworking new graduates or experienced candidates to our team at KBRH. A locum or elective at the site is required prior to offer. Apply today to live, work and play where others only vacation! It's better here!
Trail - Little league to big innovation
Are you looking to relocate to a smaller city, without having to compromise on those little, but oh-so important things?
Of course you want affordable housing and a short commute. Of course you want to leave traffic and parking woes behind. You also want a thriving medical practice with access to a great teaching hospital. Those are a given. But it’s about so much more than choosing a good place for you to work. On the banks of the mighty Columbia River, the City of Trail offers so much more than a great hospital for you to work. Strong employers, community-mindedness, little league and big innovation. Parks and facilities that you’d expect to see in a much larger center. Sweeping views four seasons of the year. An airport that will get you to Vancouver or Calgary in under an hour. Hiking trails, golf courses, and even a vineyard. There’s a rich tradition of gardening and food-preservation here, and a locally-owned grocery store, Ferraro Foods, that is renowned for its selection of store-made and imported foods. You want great parks and playing fields, a well-equipped aquatic facility and library. You want four seasons of sports teams and activities, and quality schools for your kids. You want to know that your spouse will find work too, whether that’s in tech, engineering, industry or education. Come and check us out for a site visit or try a locum. |
